Chinese Apparel and Textiles Forum 2012 was launched from 12th Sep to 14th Sep 201 2 in Shenzhen. This conference was exclusively sponsor by Temptation Code, a famous lingerie brand in China.

Designed by American fashion studio “Continuum Fashion”, the bikini, named N12, is produced by American 3D company Shapeways by using the 3D printing technologies and the nylon 12 material. The sturdy nylon material is completely produced with 3D printing machine, and then spliced with seamless technology. Shapeways pointed out that, this nylon material is very “clean, strong and elastic”, so it can’t be broken during the printing process.
The design of this bikini presents the beautiful and complex patterns printed by 3D technologies, but also highlights the technology challenge that pliable and tough products can be made from nylon materials. Designers said that 3D printing bikini is just the beginning. In the future, there will be skirts and zipper products completely printed by 3D prnter. Any kind of clothing may be directly produced by this digital technology, but not the manual or machine sewing.
3D printer, appearing in the middle of 1990s, actually is the rapid prototyping apparatus adopted the light-curing and paper lamination technologies. The working principle is the same as the common printer installed with printing material such as liquid and power. Stella McCartney Launches Invisible Lingerie

Recently, Stella McCartney, the designer of London 2012 Olympic Games sportswear, launches a new set of lingerie, the slogan of which is “lightest and most invisible”. If you wear this lingerie according to the ways she teaches wearer, you even can’t feel that you are wearing anything.

Shantou China Occupies Domestic One Third Loungewear Production Volume

According to a latest research conducted by Shantou Apparel Association, Chaonan district of Shantou is the largest loungewear production base in China, which takes accounts for one third domestic volume.

Shantou is one of the largest apparel production bases in China. With years’ development and technology importation, Chaonan district has completed loungewear industry chain, with increase of foreign order year by year at a steady pace.

Wacoal Creates New Brand for Chinese Young Women

On July 3, Japanese brand Wacoal announced that it had created specialty brand for Chinese young women between 20~30 years old and it would develop the products based on Chinese women's body shapes and preferences but the price is lower than those of Wacoal brand at about 60 percent.
Wacoal hopes to expand its customer groups from the high-income group to the middle-income class aiming to reach 10 billion yen sales in 2014 contrast to 60 billion yen in 2011.
The new brand is called "LA ROSABELLE". In addition to bras and panties, there are more than 150 categories including indoor casual wear and daily necessities. Based on the research data about Chinese women combined with the adapted design essence of Wacoal brand, the new brand reflects the female's body shape in products, and enhances inward squeeze function of bra. The centre price of per piece is about 150RMB.
The No.1 store locates in Zhongguancun, the western part of Beijing, where is home to a large number of young women. It will set up stores in big cities like Shanghai, etc, aiming to expand 130 flagship stores in the end of 2014. The market sales of Chinese women lingerie is about 1 trillion yen, growing at a speed of two-digit recently. Wacoal holds 20 percent market share in the middle-high level products area which only accounts for 10 percent of the whole lingerie market, therefore the company hopes to expand its business through a new brand.

Lenzing to Build Brand New Tencel Factory

International group Lenzing is about to build a brand new tencel factory around a small town named Austria. This is the first time Lenzing has started production facility construction. According to the foreign media, order model could be the hottest e-commerce model this year. Adore me, whose headquarter locates in New York, is a lingerie company of order model.
Recently, Adore me gets an investment valued $2.5 million in second round. The investors include Redhills Ventures、U.S. angels, Jaina Capital and Ventech Capital.
Adore me was established in 2011 which received 50 % sales growth monthly through its own “Personal Lingerie Showroom” since then.
The co-founder as well as CEO Morgan Hermand Waiche says that Adore me has been on the right track, and the sales is expected to reach between 1 million and 2 million.
Besides Morgan Hermand Waiche, Fabrice Grinda and Jose Marin are the founders of Adore me. Grinda was once the founder of Olx.com while Marlin was the CEO of DeRemate.com.
Morgan Hermand Waiche adds that Adore me was firstly built by sponsors when he studied in Harvard. But now, Adore me is actively looking for the publisher and e-commerce partner who focus on women’s market.
For now, Adore me owns 50,000 members and about 100,000 hits monthly. Morgan Hermand Waiche also says “ it is too soon to talk about monthly sales. But it’s certain that the growth rate of monthly sales reaches 40 % since January.
However, Adore me isn’t the only venture company to help women find better lingerie, and it faces the competitions from True&Co and Brayola. The differences among these companies are that True&Co and Brayola focus on suitable lingerie while Adore me emphasizes discounts.

Lingerie Maker Hanesbrands Announces Its Exit from Europe

on May 30, 2012, HanesBrands (NYSE: HBI), the American largest maker of branded lingerie, announced on Wednesday that it will sell its European imagewear division and, in the Unites States, close the private-label business and plan divestiture of its Outer Banks brand.
Imagewear accounts for 8 percent of the company's sales before the actions. Hanes expects to incur pretax charges in the second quarter of up to $85 million to $95 million of this restructuring action for imagewear and the announced restructuring will reduce net sales in the second half of the year, by approximately $60 million.
"This restructuring action won't incur staff reducing", said Richard A. Noll, Hanes Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
This sales will close all the Hanesbrands' s outlets in Europe where the economy situation seems becoming worse.
This company plans to sell its European imagewear division to an affiliate of Smartwares B.V. for €15 million (approximately $18.8 million). Hanes will sell the basic apparel to the wholesale screen-print channel customers. After this transaction, the company will change the name of its imagewear operations to Branded Printwear, then it will be focus on Hanes and Champion branded products.
This sale plan will be finished  this week. "With our exit from Europe," Hanes Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard A. Noll said, "we can devote all of our energies to growing our branded portfolio in core geographies in the America and Asia."
Hanebrands, the  American well-known lingerie and sports suit maker, owns several brands which are Hanes, Champion and Wonder bra. It shows in the financial data last month that, the first season of 2012, it lost $26.8 million with the net profit decreasing by 3 percent. This company reconfirmed that in 2012, the whole year, each stock expects to get profit of $2.5 to $2.6.
