Shantou Leads the Development of China Loungewear Industry

As the first group of opening zone in China, Shantou garment industry starts with underwear sector and now has become one of the most important areas in loungewear production.

Shantou Fashion Loungewear Association organized more than 20 famous local brands to take part in the 7th SIUF, in which the leading position of Shantou loungewear industry is fully reflected via professional trend report, fashion catwalk show and design contest.

In current market, many customers regard loungewear as a kind of wearing that is not much in need. With the rising life standard, sales condition of casual wearing in certain areas, such as Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai, grow at a steady pace.

In the course of promoting Chinese traditional culture that family value locates at the central place, Shantou government notices the importance of loungewear industry. With decades of development, Shantou district has become one of the professional bases with complete industrial chain and large manufacturing scale.

According to statistics, 60% domestic loungewear firms are in Shantou district, whose sales amount occupies 70% of overall production per year and volume 80% of annual total production.
