In an underwear seminar held in Wuhan, head of Technical Committee of China Knitting Association Wang Zhi disclosed that it was not surprised to find out the disqualification of the big brand underwear because of their cut corners and insufficient washing.

“Formaldehyde, PH and color fastness are the existing problems in underwear industry.”, Wang Zhi added, “People didn’t care about these problems before, but since the improvement of living standard, people pay more and more attention on the safety of underwear. Actually, the formaldehyde could be easily solved by washing more. And reason for this disqualification results from the omissions of normal procedures.

The data told us that Chinese production values of knitting enterprises in 2011 were 57.65 billion RMB which was increased by 21 % while the knitting apparel was decreased by 0.4%. This is the first decline since 2000, which means that the domestic sales of underwear are getting fiercer and fiercer.

Wang Zhi also said that much functional underwear was hyped, and the most important things to choose your underwear are the standard and substance.
