The Second Golden Figure Fashion Lingerie Design Contest Came to a Successful Ending

TheSecond Golden Figure Fashion Lingerie Design Contest was held at Shantou on the night of 26th July. The wizard of Oz, an innovative work from Jiangxi Apparel Institute, grabbed the golden award.

The Second Golden Figure Fashion Lingerie Design Contest is supported by China Textile Association, China Textile & Underwear Committee and Golden Figure Lingerie Co.
Theme of this contest is about environmental protection and graceful atmosphere, aspiring to express conception of green, recycling and modern fashion. Thus, lingerie design is able to inject into fresh life, vitality and a brand new art effect.
Creative thinking and recycling conception is fully delivered via various inspirations and striking designs. It is said that totally 1645 pieces of works from 89 colleges are collected by the judging panel. 32 pieces of designs are selected into the final competition.

Zhiqiang Zhang, vice president of China Textile & Underwear Committee said, “Young designers in this competition give play to rich imagination and originality. On basis of market demand, their designs have strong sense of visual effect and cultural connotation, which is in line with modern fashion and trend. It is a successful design contest both on scale and level”.

Shantou China Occupies Domestic One Third Loungewear Production Volume

According to a latest research conducted by Shantou Apparel Association, Chaonan district of Shantou is the largest loungewear production base in China, which takes accounts for one third domestic volume.

Shantou is one of the largest apparel production bases in China. With years’ development and technology importation, Chaonan district has completed loungewear industry chain, with increase of foreign order year by year at a steady pace.
In order to boost apparel industry up to a higher level, local government has carried out a comprehensive project to promote technical innovation and to realize industrial conversion.
Though there was drop of Chinese apparel sales in the first half year, exportation of Channan loungewear stayed positive growth trend.
It is said that apparel production gross value of Shantou city was up to 32 billion RMBs in 2011 with about 2800 apparel firms in the area. Total exportation value of loungewear was more than 45 billion dollars last year.

Finalists of Ordifen Cup 2012 Lingerie Design Contest Unveiled

Finals of Ordifen Cup 2012 Lingerie Design Contest will be held in October during Chinese Benz Fashion Week, which includes 20 creative works selected from 695 designs from all over the world.

Judging panel is made of famous designers in Chinese fashion cycle. Appearance, functionality, comfort and creativity are four main standards for judgment.
After seven year development, Ordifen Cup Lingerie Design Contest has become one of the most famous lingerie design competitions in China. Green Curve is theme of this year, trying to deliver environmental protection concept and glamour of modern women.
"Environmental protection is important in modern fashion design. We should combine human-friendly design with green conception in underwear design. Some players even make use of natural fiber as their main fabric. This is something we like to see”, a judge said.
"Chinese elements fuse into underwear design in various ways, which is in line with modern fashion”, another judge added.
"Without complicated design, simple but not boring style can also be seen in this contest”, the judge continued.

Wacoal Creates New Brand for Chinese Young Women

On July 3, Japanese brand Wacoal announced that it had created specialty brand for Chinese young women between 20~30 years old and it would develop the products based on Chinese women's body shapes and preferences but the price is lower than those of Wacoal brand at about 60 percent.
Wacoal hopes to expand its customer groups from the high-income group to the middle-income class aiming to reach 10 billion yen sales in 2014 contrast to 60 billion yen in 2011.
The new brand is called "LA ROSABELLE". In addition to bras and panties, there are more than 150 categories including indoor casual wear and daily necessities. Based on the research data about Chinese women combined with the adapted design essence of Wacoal brand, the new brand reflects the female's body shape in products, and enhances inward squeeze function of bra. The centre price of per piece is about 150RMB.
The No.1 store locates in Zhongguancun, the western part of Beijing, where is home to a large number of young women. It will set up stores in big cities like Shanghai, etc, aiming to expand 130 flagship stores in the end of 2014. The market sales of Chinese women lingerie is about 1 trillion yen, growing at a speed of two-digit recently. Wacoal holds 20 percent market share in the middle-high level products area which only accounts for 10 percent of the whole lingerie market, therefore the company hopes to expand its business through a new brand.

Lenzing to Build Brand New Tencel Factory

International group Lenzing is about to build a brand new tencel factory around a small town named Austria. This is the first time Lenzing has started production facility construction. It’s reported that there are 67,000 tons of particular tencel produced in this small town which will do good to the manufacture of Lenzing tencel products.
Why does Lenzing choose Austria to be the production base? The main reasons are the geographic location which is closer to tencel material, the own capacity to generate capacity and the rising sales of tencel in European market. The raw material and tencel’s rising value push Lenzing to build a new factory. As the development of fiber optic technology and the use of artificial fiber, tencel becomes a popular material.
CEO Weninger says that Lenzing promoted lyocell to the market with the same strategy 20 years ago, now it’s tencel’s turn.
In addition, Lenzing says that they have got the construction permit of legally binding this Monday. This brand new tencel factory will become one of the biggest industrial-investment factories.
